Here's an overview of the loan-application process.
Get Prequalified Before You Start Your Home Search
Before you start looking for your next home, talk with one of our mortgage loan officers about getting prequalified. Prequalification can help you understand how much you may be able to borrow and establish a realistic price range for your home search.
Knowing your potential buying power before you begin can help you focus on homes that fit your budget—and avoid falling in love with a home that may beyond your price range. It may also help identify financial or credit issues that should be addressed before you are ready to make an offer.
Prequalification vs. Preapproval
While the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, they can represent different stages of the mortgage process. Prequalification is typically an early estimate of your borrowing potential based on information you provide. Preapproval generally involves a more detailed review of your financial information and may provide greater confidence when you're ready to make an offer.
Not sure where to begin? One of our mortgage loan officers can help you determine the next step for your homebuying journey.
When you've selected a property and have a contract with the Seller, the next step is to complete your loan application, which can be done easily through our website. To get started, select an application from the list on the left.
At the appropriate time we'll order a property appraisal for you.
During this stage we verify your income and asset information with independent documentation. The appraisal, flood certification and legal information is ordered. Your processor will contact you to obtain information and answer your questions.
Once we have verified all your income and asset information and the appraisal has been reviewed. Your loan will be completely approved and ready for closing.
You will be asked to obtain your homeowner's and/or flood insurance at this time. We will coordinate with the closing attorney and you'll sign the final papers at their office. Your Real Estate Agent will also be notified of the date and time of your loan closing which make your purchase go smoothly.
